Dahan is an Indian Kolkata bengali film which was directed by talented director Rituparno Ghosh. The story of this movie was written by Suchitra Bhattacharya and the screenplay was written by Rituparno Ghosh. It was released in 1917 in India. It won several national awards and was acclaimed by the critics.
Plot / Story: A freshly wed couple Romita (Rituparna Sengupta) and Palash (Abhishek Chatterjee) have been attacked on an open road of the city. The goons maltreated Romita, however no one came forward to assist. However, one lone instructor, Jhinuk (Indrani Halder), rush to the spot to assist. She was later hailed a heroine by the press. Jhinuk made up our minds to penalise the assailants, and helped police. However, the expertise of Jhinuk clad to be a frustrating expertise for her once even the victims and their family set to back out.
